President Darrell Barabash has formed a Sound Noise Committee to help the club solve the potential for Noise Pollution as described in the recent complaints received from the Grapevine Park Department.

David Vilbig has volunteered to chair this committee and has quickly formed his team with the following members:

Chairman: David Vilbig, As everyone knows David is the mastermind behind the recent field realignment project our club has just completed.  David has also taken on the added burden of the Trophy Club field to help that municipality establish a presence in the RC Flying Field arena.  David Vilbigs bipartisan leadership has shown to be a great asset to the club, we are very fortunate to have a member like David to help us see clearly when the fog sets in.

Andy Boyden:  Andy has worked in the field of acoustics for 10 years at home and abroad.  Andy's experience in this field will give the team the technical know how to measure and define our noise issue and to solve the problem.

David McCutchen :  David is a new member to our club, but a long time and very experienced RC modeler.  David has competed and won events at I.M.A.C. (International Model Aerobatic Club.)  As you know I.M.A.C. has a very stringent sound program that its members must participate in,  experience with this sound program is vital to knowing how to properly suppress noise from RC motors.

The Mandate that our President has given to the Committee is as follows

1. Make measurements and establish a Sound DB Limit that will translate to an acceptable noise level at the property line of the homeowners that have been concerned with noise pollution generated from our flying field.

2. Make recommendation to the club to set a "Not to exceed" noise DB sound level that our club will enforce to the general membership RC model population that fly at the 114th RC Aero Squadron flying field.

This means all club members will be expected to cooperate and participate completely.

The Sound committee will be the final word on the recommendations
made to the club without exception.
